Event at The DL Postponed!!!

ATTENTION!!! I woke up today to this text message from the promoter: Hey, everyone! Well, I've got bad news and good news. Sorry for the last minute notice, but I had to be sure of everything before I texted everyone. Yesterday my partner and I got the word that our Thursday party at the DL was being cancelled. Despite packing the place and making a lot of money, the majority partner at DL wants to do a top 40 fist pump Jersey Shore type party and didnt like our music, burlesque, drag queen, live music, dances, body painting, debauch. The Good News is that the party is being moved across the street to Hotel Chantelle startixg next Thurs! The owners there are happy to have our party over and help us rub our awesome shit in the DL's face. So, the party will resume in one week's time from today at Hotel Chantelle.

Tonight I will be spinning at Botanic Lab instead.  86 Orchard St, NYC.

New NYC Hotspot: Botanic Lab

Botanic Lab is a new mixology craft cocktail bar located next to and downstairs from Casa Mezcal. It was conceived and developed by master mixologist Miguel Aranda formerly from Apothéke, Bathtub Gin, Flatiron Room, Bar Masa and a slew of other fine establishments. Botanic Lab has a full stage and features live performances of various types of acts. The concept of Botanic Lab is based on Botanical based cocktails like the Rosemary Gin & Tonic and the Clove Negroni.  The ambiance and drinks will endear you to Botanic Lab, but there is more.  The venue has a state of the art sound system and some of the hottest DJs in town.  The Fridays and Saturdays have been very popular since the venue opened.  Starting Thursday December 5th, and every Thursday after,  ĀGARD will be curating the music from 10pm until closing.  So if you are looking for an experience that will stimulate all of your senses go to Botanic Lab on Thursday night!

Brand to Watch: DIEM NYC

Everyone who knows me knows that I am very proud to call myself a Brooklynite.  Brooklyn has been a wellspring of talent and ingenuity since the Dutch settled here in 1634.  Yes I went that far back.  One of the things that Brooklyn is known for is reinventing its own aesthetic through style.  In my opinion we are witnessing this reinvention once again through the clothing of DIEM.  The acronym stands for Does It Even Matter.  Apparently it does because many tastemakers and celebs alike have been seen wearing the brand conceived by the same designer who brought us Brooklyn Sky.  I would strongly suggest checking out their line if you're looking to reinvent your personal aesthetic.   Visit DIEM

DIEM paid homage to Peter Quillin a.k.a Kid Chocolate.  The boxing champion represents Brooklyn.

Día De Los Muertos @ Casa Mezcal

Humble Beginnings

Everybody please watch and share this video.  It is a collaborative effort, bringing Hip-Hop Music and contemporary dance together through a music video medium.  Dylan & Bianca Golden, siblings, worked to merge their two worlds together.  The result is a great artistic representation.  This is what our generation is capable of doing when the artform is the focus.

Mad Decent Block Party

I know I know, winter is steady approaching, but I can't help, but reminisce about my summer.  Mad Decent Block party was definitely historic this year.  With acts like Rockie Fresh, Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis, & Major Lazer you can't go wrong.  Hopefully it is in Brooklyn again next summer!  Shoutout to Jillionaire, Walshy Fire, Diplo, & Splurt.
